The Masters is considered the most prestigious golf tournament in the world. Unlike other Majors, the Masters is always played on one course the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia. Phil Mickelson quoted "The winner of this tournament doesn't just win a major. He becomes a part of the history of the game, and that's what excites me. This tournament creates something that is very special, and year in year out, history is made here."

 

The Masters is months away but Las Vegas is already posting the future odds to win. The top five in order; Rory Mcllroy, Tiger Woods (4 Green Jackets), Adam Scott  (1 Green Jacket), Phil Mickelson (3 Green Jackets), Bubba Watson (2 Green Jackets). Only time will tell who will win, but you can be assured that the cheers will ring out and again history will be made.

 

Speaking of history did you know; the first Masters, known as "Augusta National Invitational" was played on March 22, 1934, Horton Smith won and received $1,500 first prize money. The name was changed in 1939 from Augusta National Invitational to The Masters. The history of the Augusta National rules have not changed much over the years, it is still limited to 300 members, you are not able to apply for membership, you must be nominated by a member. Even Bill Gates was not admitted at first because he stated publicly he wanted to be a member – Gates finally became a member in 2002. When you attend the Masters you do not have tickets, but have Patron Badges.
